What a Minion Birthday :) and a little rant ;)

Let's Begin!

So over the past weekend, i had a blast. It was tiring and I had to give up my weekend doing a party and driving everywhere, running errands but let me tell you, it was all worth it. So let's begin with such a happy minion-themed birthday. Disclaimer: It might be long and filled with photos :)

My nephews were January babies, Aisy and Zachary. So we decided to throw them a party to join both their birthdays. They wanted a superhero themed birthday but we settled on a little blue and yellow character instead.

For the past whole month, we've been planning and buying stuff for the party. Scouting almost everywhere for all the minion plates, cups, table cloths and decorations. I invited as many friends as i could but as usual, errybodeh was busy and only Iffa made it to the party.

She's far more helpful and dependable than I give her credit for. Despite being a guest, she helped out with the pre-party preparations and also for the party itself. To be honest, i was super grateful that she was there and i didn't have to do everything alone. I may give her little credit for everything she did, but i really do appreciate all her efforts.

We had a special guest appearance by Dave the Minion and he pretty much entertained the crowd whenever he could make an appearance. He danced, took pictures and sometimes, took some hits from the people around but he was more than happy to be part of the party.

Well a minion birthday would not be complete without a minion cake. I was hoping that it'd be bananas, seeing that its their favourite vocabulary but nah, we settled for something much more humane. It was an ice cream cake and i kid you not, it vanished within half an hour after much trouble that the cake-cutters went through to distribute as evenly to everyone as possible. It was frozen heaven.

We had a celebrity appearance from Aliff Aziz too. It was a little too surreal to know he was standing just a few centimeters away from me. And the fact that i was the one who fetched him and all that made it all felt like a movie.

As i dropped him off as the front porch of my house, slowly crowd gathered and soon, he was not even at peace while he ate. People kept coming at him for photos and he kept a smile on his face and humbly accepted their offer for a photo.

He is a down-to-earth guy and seriously, it felt kinda weird knowing that i was having normal conversation with a guy whom hundreds of people adore. I only got a photo with him the next day, when he came back to meet-up with my sis-in-law at the time i was at my most unglam. Damn, look at that hair looking like a lion, no wonder i'm still single. hehehehehehehee......

But overall, the party was a success and it definitely went better than i expected. We cleared the food buffet and everyone ended the night happy.

Just some additional rants, because i felt the need to enlighten a lot of people. You guys may know who Aliff Aziz is and what he's done and everything that's been reported in the news. Let me just share my opinion. Everyone is bound to make mistakes and sometimes, in the media industry, being an artist, papparazzi blow things out of proportions about what they do. People make things up just to have a story up on their page or in the paper. I'm a budding journalist and i know the extend most people would go just to send in a story for it to be read by millions.

I met him that night and he is the same typical person like everybody else. He wants to live life normally without people looking at him differently. Sometimes we can't always believe what we read. This may be years ago but i did watch him from Anugerah and my goodness, i made him one of my role models. He was so young and he achieved so much, and i just couldn't help but wonder, if one day, i'd be able to be just like him.

He walked the path that I've always dreamed off and I can't help but wonder why people can't support him enough for it. When you like something you do, you'll do it no matter what. And that's exactly what he's doing and he needs our support. He's got a new single out and I hope all of you can support him. He's a nice guy and I believe he is much more than just meets the eye :)
